Cleanroom Construction Superintendent - Allendale, NJ
12-15 month project based role
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cleanroom Construction Superintendent to oversee the daily operations of cleanroom construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in strict compliance with cleanroom standards (ISO 14644, GMP, etc.). This role requires deep knowledge of cleanroom construction methods, HVAC and filtration systems, and cleanroom classifications, along with strong leadership and coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise all on-site construction activities specific to cleanroom build-outs
• Ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, safety codes, and cleanroom standards.
• Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades, and suppliers to meet project milestones.
• Monitor and enforce safety regulations and cleanliness protocols unique to cleanroom environments.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality of workmanship and adherence to contamination control practices.
• Manage schedules, resolve field issues, and adjust plans as needed to maintain productivity.
• Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and issue tracking.
• Interface with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Oversee commissioning and startup processes for cleanroom systems.
• Ensure the installation of HVAC systems, HEPA filters, wall panels, ceilings, flooring, and electrical systems are cleanroom-compliant.
• Lead punch list and closeout activities.
Qualifications:
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Proven experience as a construction superintendent on cleanroom projects.
• Extensive knowledge of cleanroom classifications and construction best practices (ISO 14644, GMP, FDA, etc.).
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and architectural systems within cleanroom environments.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team coordination skills.
• Familiarity with scheduling software (MS Project)
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or construction management certification preferred.
Preferred Experience:
• 5+ years supervising cleanroom construction projects.
• Experience with medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
• Familiarity with clean build protocols and gowning procedures.
