About the Company

A major Japanese logistics company in Torrance, CA, is seeking a Material Handler (Forklift Required) to join their warehouse/transloading team.

About the Role

In this role, you will support daily transloading operations, including unloading, receiving, inspecting, loading, shipping, storing, and preparing related documents and reports. You will follow instructions from the Team Lead and Transloading Customer Service Manager and help ensure smooth, safe, and accurate warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Support transloading operations alongside other material handlers.
• Assist with counting, weighing, and measuring incoming/outgoing cargo, comparing identifying information to bills of lading, invoices, receivers, and other documents.
• Record any irregularities or freight/container/trailer damage on receiving documents and report them to the Manager, Team Lead, and relevant team members.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date daily records and complete required forms, including:
• Daily inbound receiving tally
• Daily outbound trailer loading tally
• Driver’s information sheet: manifest
• Daily activity log prepared by the Transloading Team
• Any other required/instructed records
• Follow and model all safety practices, including proper movement of freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, stacking, staging, loading, and unloading.
• Perform palletizing, restacking, reworking, labeling, and sorting of freight as required.
• Operate forklift, hand pallet jack, scale, and other tools safely in accordance with policy.
• Help maintain warehouse equipment (forklift, hand jack, storage racks, computers, etc.) and report damage or failures to the Dock Lead or CS Manager.
• Communicate transloading/shipping/receiving status to Team Manager, Team Lead, Customer Service Team, and other internal teams using appropriate communication tools in a timely manner.
• Ensure facility security at day’s end by confirming doors are closed/locked, glad hand locks are placed on containers, and coordinating with warehouse departments to confirm the security system is armed.
• Perform other related duties, including overtime as required by the Transloading Customer Service Manager.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years of warehousing, shipping, and receiving experience
• Sit-down/stand-up forklift certification

Pay Range and Benefits

• Salary: $21/hour
