Regimen: Full-time On-site work with an expectation of travel to support clients

Position Brief:

The Chatham Group: Advanced Materials and Technologies Recruiting Team is seeking highly qualified candidates for a Project and Construction Engineer for a client in the Industrial Gasses and Compressed Air Systems industry. The ideal candidate will have a background in Mechanical Engineering and ideally a Project Management Professional certification. This position deals with the strategic planning, budgeting, and execution of capital projects across a major manufacturing site and several client/customer sites. This role is very hands-on from design, management of contractors and subcontractors, and leading presentations and discussions with clients of scheduling and deliverables.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the project engineering execution strategy from initial planning stages, through budgeting, scheduling, and safe and on-time delivery
• Serve as the primary technical interface and project interface for customers, vendors, and contractors
• Oversee the selection of contractors, lead site safety programs, and make sure on-site construction activities are delivered within the scope of the budget and schedule
• Develop project estimates and proposals for new clients and new building opportunities
• Lead a multidisciplinary team through all phases from conceptual design, to procurement, construction, and finally commissioning
• You will report to the VP of Engineering and work collaboratively with the Technology Manager and the Project Engineering team

Qualifications:

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering
• 5 years of demonstrable experience in project engineering, construction management, facilities engineering, equipment installation, and/or pilot plant start-up
• Strong working knowledge of project controls through strategic planning, scheduling, and budgeting
• Experience in the industrial gas or compressed air systems industry is a plus
• Ability to travel to client sites for on-site construction engineering support and new product commissioning

Relocation may be provided for highly qualified candidates and compensation will be commensurate with experience level.
