Job Description

We are seeking a Project & Plant Engineer located near Creston, IA to lead engineering projects and support plant operations. This role combines project management, technical troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to drive equipment reliability, production efficiency, safety, and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and implement engineering projects supporting safety, quality, and plant performance.
• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and allocate resources.
• Lead contractor orientation and manage contractor performance.
• Track and report on project progress, including budget, schedule, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Support maintenance and production teams with mechanical troubleshooting, downtime analysis, and OEE improvement projects.
• Lead change management processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all work complies with GMPs, food safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and present updates to stakeholders.

What we are looking for:

• Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent technical/trade experience.
• 2–3 years’ experience in industrial operations, plant maintenance, or related field.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with PLCs, process control computers, and networking devices.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Project.
• Knowledge of bearings, pulleys, chains, belt drives, lubricants, and mechanical schematics.
• Experience in food manufacturing or regulated environments.
• Ability to travel up to 25% for training or projects.
