Job Description

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Furniture Service Tech on a Direct Hire basis. This role is based out of Yuma, AZ.

Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Furniture Service Technician to perform inspection, repair, and maintenance on a variety of furniture types, including wood, upholstered, and powered motion units. This role combines mechanical repair expertise with in-home customer service, requiring both technical aptitude and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair wood, upholstered, and motion furniture, including power recliners, lift chairs, and adjustable mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot and service electrical components such as motors, switches, wiring, and transformers.
• Perform structural repairs involving frames, springs, legs, mechanisms, and hardware.
• Repair or replace upholstery components including padding, webbing, and minor leather or fabric issues.
• Complete in-home or warehouse service calls with a focus on customer satisfaction and professionalism.
• Use a mobile application to document service work, parts used, and repair outcomes.
• Maintain and organize tools, equipment, and parts inventory in a safe, orderly environment.
• Clearly communicate service updates and repair expectations with customers and internal teams.

Required Skills

• 2+ years of experience in furniture repair, upholstery, woodworking, and/or mechanical repair.
• Proficiency in servicing powered motion furniture and understanding of low-voltage electrical systems ideal.
• Ability to interpret repair manuals, schematics, and manufacturer documentation.
• Skilled in using hand and power tools with a strong mechanical troubleshooting mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to manage service calls independently.
• Capable of lifting and maneuvering up to 75 lbs (with assistance) and working in confined positions.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Experience in customer-facing repair or field service roles is preferred.
• Bilingual English & Spanish is preferred but not required.
